What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ‘ray-key’) is a two-syllable Japanese word meaning universal life force, mysterious atmosphere or miraculous sign.
REI: ‘The invisible force of all essence; soul, spirit'
KI: ‘That vital energy which creates, sustains and nurtures all living things.’
Reiki, originating in India and the east thousands of years ago, is a non-invasive form of hands-on technique, based on the principle that the therapist can channel high-frequency energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional wellbeing. Generally speaking, if a person is exhibiting stress or other illness, it is likely that their energy is lacking. Reiki creates a higher self-connection to the universal energy that breathes life into all living things. In the same vein as disciplines such as Tai Chi, Feng Shui, Meditation, Yoga and Acupuncture; Reiki harnesses the ability to control and greatly enhance the flow of this energy in and around your body.
Humanity has become so fragmented and hollow; we are only a shadow of what we could be. We now need to go back, in order to go forward once more. Reiki is holistic: it works on the body, mind and spirit by stimulating a person’s natural healing abilities. The blocked emotional and physical elements that lead to illness and disease are cleared. In reconnecting to your authentic self, stagnation and imbalance is cleared and you feel calm, relaxed and immersed in energy
As an ancient form of healing, Reiki is safe and gentle, yet very powerful way to balance Chi or life energies and heal at the deepest emotional and spiritual levels. When the mind, body and spirit are in harmony, the biological intelligence that governs the body’s resources and allows it to heal itself and function correctly are intensified. Reiki is the key that unlocks the body’s optimum capabilities. When we combine Reiki and Hypnotherapy, it creates the ultimate connection of oneself and their own ability to self-heal.
